Weekly History Wrap-Up: 04/29/11.

Yeah Friday, finally.  And time for the Weekly History Wrap-Up.  First off, the History Junkie must admit that he got a little misty last night watching Michael Scott’s final episode on The Office.  Without a doubt, best boss ever.

But back to work!

Madame Ngo Dinh Nhu, South Vietnam’s “Dragon Lady” or unofficial “First Lady” depending on how you look at it, died Easter Sunday.

I never realized how many have been hurt or killed by live ordnance leftover from the Vietnam War.

We must certainly never forget that the Korean War was truly an international affair.

I love the Honor Flights.  And who could be more worthy than three-war veteran, Preston Oliver.

Two Korean War GIs have been posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

Having recently read and reviewed Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford, the Only What We Could Carry (OWWCC) project is both timely and relevant.

The Dupage County Historical Museum is rallying to save the Civil War flag of the 8th Illinois Cavalry.

And lets wrap it up with a final tribute to the best boss ever, see ya Michael Scott.  Thanks for the memories.

Til Monday, have a historical weekend.
