Weekly History Wrap-Up: 12/24/10.

Yes, the History Junkie knows that it is Christmas Eve.  But some of us still have to work.  Readers demand their Weekly History Wrap-Up.  And we will oblige.  The Blog must go on!

Great story out of Spotsylvania County, Virginia on a high school group bringing back the music of World War II.  Keep up the great work!

Jim Estrada authored a wonderful piece on Latinos in U.S. military history.

Then there’s Judge Jim Osborne and his Indiana Military Museum in Vincennes.  Wow!  Sounds like a must see.  Can you say, “Road Trip!”

Ahhh–deep sigh and feeling of satisfaction.  How often do you find exactly what you’re looking for?  The Everytown USA Project wants every town in this great country to capture it’s military history before it is too late.  The good folks in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania have done just that with their Veterans of Ellwood City webpage.  Applause!  Cheers!  Applause!

Lastly, and above all else, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of local soldier, Marine Lance Corporal William “Billy” Crouse, who was killed in Afghanistan on Tuesday.

Until next week, Merry Christmas to all.
