A good Monday morning to all. Time for the 90th Infantry Division Pic of the Week.
A group that certainly doesn’t get the credit they deserve are the brave Piper Cub pilots of World War II. They did so much, always at extreme risk, to aid their buddies on the ground.

90th Infantry Division Artillery Observation Pilot, Lt. Donald H. Olsen (Sturgeon Bay, WI), discusses flight route with Signal Corps cameraman, Tech. Sgt. Harold A. Stillings (Milton, NH), tasked with recording combat troops crossing the Rhine River (Schmidtheim, Germany - March 1945). U.S. Army Signal Corps Photo, Courtesy National Archives

Harold A. Stillings was my father in law. He never talked much about what he saw in Europe.
Hi Nicki,
Wow! I love this photo. It’s hard to imagine how much your father-in-law, Harold Stillings, must have seen during the war. He was a true first-hand witness to history. You say that he never talked much about the war. Did he keep copies of his photos? Or perhaps his camera equipment as a remembrance? Have you seen this photograph before?
