OK. I’ll admit it. I’m am totally amped about the “Hunger Games” movie that premieres tonight at midnight. I like to know what my kids are reading, that is, if I can stomach it. True I didn’t make it through three chapters of “Twilight” and would rather gouge my eyes out with a spoon than watch the movies. But, I agreed to give the “Hunger Games” books a try. Dude! Are you kidding me? These books are incredible!
And now the movie! I just heard a “Hunger Games” movie review by Cecily Knobler on the radio, on my way into work this morning. She gave it an “A”!
I feel a little giddy, like a teenage girl. But as a grown-ass man, I couldn’t bring myself to secure tickets weeks ahead of time for the midnight showing, then wait in line for hours for the best seats. However, my teenage daughter did. And now that the day has arrived, I’m feeling a bit jealous. I’m not waiting for this one to come free on dvd at the public library. Theaters beware, my open wallet will be making a rare appearance this weekend.
