St. Patrick’s Day – 2012.

Yes! Yes! This past Saturday was St. Patrick’s Day, one of my favorite holidays of the year. It always seems a bit strange when it falls on a weekend though. I must admit that I enjoy the serious revelers who take the day off work to start drinking beer at 7:00 am.

Enjoying a Guinness at O'Connor's Muskerry Arms Pub in Blarney, Ireland.

Local Fort Wayne St. Patrick’s Day favorites include O’Sullivans and J.K. O’Donnell’s. I heard the lines outside the these watering holes actually began forming at 5:00 am. Now there’s the kind of dedication we’re looking for.

This St. Patrick’s Day was all the more special for me, being that I holidayed in Ireland last summer. What a country! And I’ve got to leave you with a fun fact. According to Guinness, 5.5 million pints of the Irish stout are consumed daily around the world. But on St. Patrick’s Day, world-wide consumption of Guinness balloons to 13 million pints. Way to go world!
