90th Infantry Division Pic of the Week: Lobenstein, Germany.

Gooooooood Monday morning to all.  It’s time for the 90th Infantry Division Pic of the Week.

I love this late April 1945 shot of Lobenstein, Germany.  How picturesque is this quaint little burg?

    Dear Mike,
    hope you’re doing well. ;)
The accurate location of this picture is Bad Lobenstein, Thuringen, Germany (a few kms west of the Cz border)
    A vintage 70′s – 80′s of the same place : http://static0.akpool.de/images/cards/24/249676.jpg

      Tristan,

Yes, you are correct. Bad Lobenstein, near the border. Thank you for the current pic, maybe I’ll use it in a future post. Ever been to Bad Lobenstein?

      Thanks again,
      Mike

I eventually managed to see the article again ;)
I’ve been in Germany several times (Berlin, Kassel, Munich, etc …). I’ve also visited the Merkers Salt Mine. I didn’t know the 90th liberated this place. Imagine how surprised I was when I saw the jeep in the Mine with 90th bumpers markings !
But I’ve never been in Bad Lobenstein.

    Best,
    Tristan
